While health comes with a price, an initiative of San Carlos Doctors Hospital will somehow bridge this gap as we bring healthcare closer to people who may not have the funds to afford medical attention. The hospital’s management is currently formulating guidelines to open a special ward for indigents. It will be a 25-room introductory accommodation that will serve indigent patients from the locality and various neighboring areas.

‘Zero-balance billing’

The concept was conceived to study the viability of a “zero-balance billing” using only all the Phil health benefits of a qualified patient as a counterpart to their bill and by applying the “charity bed rules”. SanCarlosDoc further looks into widening its linkage to any private, non-government organization or a government-funded agency that could extend financial support for our patients. With this development, we are hoping to serve more patients. This is our way to widen our reach to the community especially those who might have been deprived of quality medical service due to financial status.
