Dr. Potenciano Veloso Larrazabal, Jr., Founder of CebuDoc Group of Hospitals, was born on April 21, 1940 in Ormoc City, Leyte. He is married to Mrs. Zenaida Sto. Domingo Larrazabal, with 4 children namely: Mrs. Marinella Carcel (married to MR. NEil E. Carcel), Mrs. Bettina Veloso (married to Mr. Michael J. Veloso), Dr. Potenciano S.D. Larrazabal, III (married to Ms. Donna C. Yrastoza) and Dr. Philip Anthony Larrazabal (married to Dr. Maria Victoria J. Labado).
He attended his secondary course at Ateneo De Cagayan in the year 1956; two years after, in the year 1958, he graduated Assoc. in Arts at University of Sto. Tomas. In the same university, he then practiced Medicine Course. In year 2000, he received his Master of Art Course with the Degree of Organization Development from Cebu Doctors College Graduate School.
In 1964-1965 respectively, he was an intern of St. Peter's General Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey; he became the Resident in Internal Medicine in Queen's Hospital Center, Jamaica, New York in 1965-1968 and Chief Resident in Internal Medicine in 1968-1969 in the same university.
He received Diplomate and Fellow in Philippine College of Physicians, Philippine Society of Gastroenterology and Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy.
Since then, he has been with different private and civic organizations such as: Cebu Medical Society (Past President in 1981-1982); Rotary Club of Cebu West (1980-1981); Hospital Marketing Corporation (Vice President); Casino Español de Cebu (Past President); Cebu Country Club (Past President); Private Hospital Association of the Philippines (Vice President); Philippine Hospital Association (Past Board Member in 1982-1983); Philippine Hospital Association, Cebu Provincial Council (Past President); Philippine Medical Care Commission, Visayas Region (Past Board Member); Association of College of Nursing, Inc., Visayas (Vice President), and etc.
Dr. Potenciano Veloso Larrazabal, Jr.'s successful leadership had been evident ever since he assumed that position as the hospital's Medical Director. He spent most of the time to the enhancement of better medical services and expects staff to render competent, ethical and humane service to all who needs it.
His hobbies are basketball, bowling, reading, and playing golf.
