Every department in the hospital aims to provide the patient with quality care at the most economical cost. The Pharmacy Department is not an exception, and it is the most extensively used therapeutic unit in the hospital. To meet the patients' expectations of efficiency and economy, the Pharmacy provides medications of highest standard, purchased from reliable sources, which are readily available and at reasonable cost.

The In-Patient Pharmacy operates to serve admitted patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Receiving Pharmacist (RP) in the In-Patient Pharmacy shall receive and review all faxed Physician Order Sheets for medication profiling per patient and will be used as reference for medication requisition for charged patients. This is done so to allow safe and effective administration of medications.

The Cebu Doctors' University Hospital In-Patient Pharmacy has a well equipped compounding area well-trained staff to ensure the correct and aseptic technique in the preparation of large volume parenterals.

In cooperation with the Nursing Service Department, the unit does system of drug distribution is practiced.
