August 20, 2020- Cebu Doctors' University Hospital celebrates 48 years of compassion, respect, quality, and innovation. The anniversary is commemorated by the unveiling of the new vision, mission, and values of CebuDoc Group; and the recognition of employees who stayed in CebuDoc for at least 5 years up to 40 years.

NEW VISION, MISSION, AND VALUES

This year's commemoration reminds CebuDoc of its rich history; its founders paving the way with a strong vision which the institution is now known for - providing excellent healthcare. For the past three years, CebuDoc Group successfully transitioned to the brand new leadership of Dr. Potenciano S.D. Larrazabal III, who finds 2020 as the best time sail to the future with a new, unified, and inclusive Vision, Mission, and Values.

MILESTONE BEYOND YEARS OF SERVICE

"Every anniversary, we recognize employees to celebrate their growth and accomplishments in the company. It is our way to reassure them that they are valued," said Engr. Huriel C. Alejandro, CebuDoc Group Corporate Hospital Administrator.

One of its valued employees, Mrs. Vilma A. Ortega, is celebrated as one of this year’s 40 Years Loyalty Service Awardees. She is joined by another 40 years loyalty service awardee, Mr. Hernane B. Son; 35 years loyalty service awardees, Mrs. Edna Jocelyn Caballero, Ms. Agnes Baviera, Ms. Alexandra Solon, and Ms. Sofia Vivares.

Mrs. Ortega studied Health Aid at the University of the Visayas. She shared that she wanted to be a nurse but due to insufficient funds and being the eldest, she has to sacrifice her dreams. She joined CebuDoc as a Nursing Aid in 1979, eventually became a ward clerk in 1982 to be trained by the Nursing Director back then. She holds an Accounting degree and some units for a Masters Degree at the University of San Jose – Recoletos. She progressively acquired new skills and increased responsibilities which led to her several promotions through the years. She is now the Head of the Medical Records Unit.

"For my 40 years of experience, working at CebuDoc made a huge difference in my personality and spiritually," said Mrs. Ortega.

In her early days, CebuDoc back then has already been recognized by many as one of the top private hospitals in Cebu City. She has witnessed CebuDoc’s valuable milestones over the years and its expansion to now seven key locations in the Visayas and recognized as the most outstanding hospital in the Philippines by the Philippine Hospital Association.

She shared that she is blessed and happy to be a part of CebuDoc Group which is continuously growing. “I am glad to grow with CebuDoc Group,” she added.

Mrs. Ortega is dedicated to her job, loyal to her colleagues, and diligent in her work. In her 40 years in service, learning and professional growth will not stop. “I am still interested to learn and acquire new knowledge and skills,” she mentioned.

With a warm and engaging working environment in CebuDoc, she enjoys working with her team, with other departments or section heads. “I appreciate the friendship that I have with my colleagues, the care and concern for one another is pure and genuine.”

There were also other 107 awardees recognized for their meritorious tenure in the organization where they spent at least 5 years.

"You too have reached an important milestone. Thank you for the many years of service and dedication to making our Vision, Mission, and Values come true every day for every patient." Engr. Alejandro concluded.
